Ezmosh relishes surface switch in Fair Grounds' feature win

After seven races on the main track, Ezmosh tried the turf for the first time on March 25 at Fair Grounds, and the Zayat Stables' colt came away with a one-length victory in an “about” 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-olds (VIDEO).

Ezmosh also got a bit of class relief from his last start over the sloppy going in the Feb. 19 Southwest S. (G3) at Oaklawn. Sent away the 3-5 favorite on Sunday, Ezmosh was in the three path nearly the entire trip. Under the snug hold of Florent Geroux for the first half-mile, he ranged up to engage the leaders entering the final turn, then kicked clear in the stretch to win handily.

Ezmosh upped his record to 2-2-1 in eight starts and improved his bankroll to $96,280. The bay son of Tizway is trained by Brad Cox.
