Zayat Stables' Flashly closed with a big rush in the final furlong to take her July 8 debut at Arlington Park by nearly three lengths for trainer Wayne Catalano.

Flashly, a 3-year-old filly by the Australian-bred Denman, found her best stride with just under a quarter-mile to run. She split foes just before entering the stretch, then swung four wide in mid-stretch to roll by the leaders and win going away in 1:03.60 for the 5 1/2-furlongs on the firm turf (VIDEO).

Maryland-bred Flashly is out of Sheave and is a half-sister to Catherine Sophia, winner of the 2016 Kentucky Oaks (G1), as well as the Forward Gal S. (G2) and Davona Dale S. (G2).

Flashly was a $190,000 purchase at the 2016 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
