Gidu (IRE) excels on Gulfstream Park turf
Gidu, a beautifully-bred son of the European Horse of the Year Frankel (GB), was very impressive in his maiden win Dec. 23 on the Gulfstream Park turf course, galloping out to score by 3 1/4-lengths and earn a Beyer Speed Figure of 84.

Making just his second lifetime start, and first since debuting August 14 at Saratoga, the gray 2-year-old was much the best in Saturday's five-furlong affair, going in hand early, then surging clear in mid-stretch to win going away.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Gidu is out of the Unbridled's Song mare Manerbe, who is a sister to Grade 1 winner Zoftig and is the dam of Grade 3 winner Marbre Rose (IRE).
