Jaycito, winner of the Grade 1 Norfolk
S. in Oct., 2010, has begun regular works under the care of Bob
Baffert as the Zayat Stables LLC colorbearer prepares for the 2012
racing season.
The 3-year-old colt has recorded three
works at Hollywood Park this month, with the latest coming on Nov.
20, when he went four furlongs in :48.60. His earlier moves came on
Nov. 13, three furlongs in :36.60, and the same distance, in :36.80,
on Nov. 6.
Jaycito has won $261,300 in six starts,
with runner-up finishes in the 2010 Del Mar Futurity (G1) and the San
Felipe (G2) this April to his credit. Zayat purchased the bay as a
yearling in the 2009 Keeneland September sale, going to $110,000 from
consignor Runnymede Farm, who bred him in Kentucky along with Catesby
Clay.
