Nanoosh made his first start on the turf a winning one on Oct. 13 at Keeneland when the 2-year-old Zayat Stables homebred colt took the one-mile affair by three lengths (VIDEO).

After a pair of dirt sprints, Nanoosh was switched to the two-turn turf race for his third lifetime start. Going along easily in seventh, about eight lengths from the front, for the first six furlongs, Nanoosh began his rally outside the quarter pole.

Five-wide coming into the stretch, jockey Jon Court guided his mount past the field and was pulling away at the wire to win comfortably.

Nanoosh is a son of Paynter, Zayat's brilliant Haskell Inv. (G1) winner and is the second foal out of Patrice Merion. He picked up $39,000 for the win.
