Mojovation came out of the gate in front and never looked back en route to a two-length win as the 4-5 favorite in an $83,000 maiden special weight contest for 2-year-olds July 29 at Saratoga.

Jockey John Velazquez got the Zayat Stables’ colorbearer to settle nicely on the front end, going through the first quarter-mile in :23.31 and a half-mile in :46.81. At the top of the stretch, Mojovation kicked away from the field and easily held off Lionite to finish the six furlongs in 1:11.14 (VIDEO).

A son of Quality Road out of Starship Warpspeed, Mojovation hails from the same family as Grade 2 winner Crafty C.T. Zayat purchased the bay colt for $330,000 at the 2016 Keeneland September Yearling sale.

Mojovation, trained by Todd Pletcher, picked up $49,800 for the win.
