Nileator sprang out of the gate and made the lead in the first 100 yards en route to his one-length victory Feb. 18 over the Gulfstream Park turf course.
The 6-year-old veteran has been consistent throughout his career for Zayat Stables, with the homebred finishing in the top three in 13 of 26 starts and earning $183,877.
Sunday's win in the one mile event came by 1 1/4-lengths over Secretary of War, who chased the winner the entire trip, fading in the final furlong when Nileator asserted himself to secure the win.
Nileator, a son of Pioneerof the Nile out of Souma, is trained by Dale Romans. Nileator's full brother, 5-year-old Jess I Am, also won a main track allowance for Zayat over the weekend, scoring by a neck at Fair Grounds in a determined effort.
