Zayat Stables' 3-year-old filly lived up to her pre-race billing with a dominating 9 1/2-length win in a one-mile allowance contest Jan. 15 at Oaklawn Park.

The eye-catching performance, her first start of 2018, could put the Brad Cox trainee on a path towards the Kentucky Oaks (G1) this coming May. Sent off at 4-5 odds under Gary Stevens, Sassy Sienna was going along easily in fourth until she suddenly accelerated on her own with about three furlongs to run, putting the field away in a matter of strides.

Sassy Sienna showed promise from the start, winning her 2-year-old debut on the turf and then placing in Saratoga's P. G. Johnson S., also on the grass. She was then a solid fourth in the Alcibiades S. (G1) at Keeneland, her first start on the dirt. She's now 2-1-1 in six starts, with earnings of $109,600.
