Zayat's first American Pharoah foal is a filly
Zayat Stables welcomed their first foal by their Triple Crown Champion and Horse of the Year American Pharoah on Jan. 19 when J Z Now foaled a chestnut filly at Lane's End Farm.

The filly, with a medium-sized white star and two white stocking, appeared healthy as she enjoyed her first week during a mild Kentucky January.

Ten-year-old J Z Now is a half-sister to Star of Goshen, the dam of American Pharoah's sire Pioneerof the Nile. J Z Now's previous foals include a Paynter yearling, and a Fast Bullet 2-year-old.

American Pharoah, who retired after winning the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) during his 2015 Horse of the Year campaign, was bred to 208 mares in 2016 in his first year at stud at Ashford Stud in Versailles, KY.
