By Johannesburg out of the Majestic Light mare Dark Jewel, the four-year-old colt will stand for $3,977 (5,000 Canadian) as the property of Ahmed Zayat.

“I am very excited to stand Marcavelly in Canada,” Zayat said about the bay colt, who hails from the family of 2005 Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) winner Artie Schiller and multiple Grade 1 winner Hidden Light. “We are firm believers in the Canadian program and where it is heading. I could have not found a better place for him to start his career at stud than Colebrook Farms Stallion Station."

Trained by Racing Hall of Famer Bill Mott, Marcavelly retired with four wins and three seconds in eight career starts and $332,963 in earnings. He won the 2007 Central Bank Transylvania (G3) and Hill Prince (G3) Stakes as well as the '06 Continental Mile Stakes.
